Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Brazilian Blow Dry Treatment completely straighten and flatten the hair like the other systems?
No, the treatment is different from Japanese straightening and other straightening systems because it doesn’t completely straighten the hair. The hair still has plenty of volume and body and can still be worn curly or wavy. The Brazilian just softens whatever curl or wave you have. If the hair is air dried, it will still have wave or curl but no frizz.
If you want to blow dry your hair straight, you can do that without a brush, in a fraction of the amount of time it would have taken without the treatment.
Can you do the treatment over a Japanese Straightener?
Yes, you can do the treatment over any kind of straightener.
Can you do the treatment on top of relaxed hair?
Yes, you can do the treatment over any previously relaxed hair but only after two weeks.
Is this treatment a relaxer?
No, it’s a treatment based on Keratin and Collagen that naturally softens, shines, smoothes, eliminates frizz and gives instant manageability.
Can you do the treatment on previously chemically treated hair?
Yes, this treatment can be done on any previously chemically treated hair.
Can you do the treatment on highlighted hair?
Can you do the treatment on virgin hair?
Yes, it can be done on virgin hair.
Can I have the treatment if I am pregnant?
I would not recommend having the Brazilian Blow Dry if you are pregnant.
Can I colour my hair after the treatment?
Yes, I recommend you colour the hair at least 24 hours before the Brazilian Blow Dry Treatment or we recommend colouring your hair two weeks after the treatment.
How long does the treatment take to do?
Depending on the length and thickness of the hair the Brazilian Blow Dry takes between 2 – 4 hours
Can I shampoo my hair after the treatment?
Yes, but only 48 hours after you have done the treatment.
What should I do if my hair gets wet during the first 48 hours after the treatment?
Blow dry immediately and use ceramic straighteners if necessary.
Can I wear a ponytail or tie my hair immediately after treatment?
No, during the first two days, do not tie your hair, put your hair behind your ears, or use hair grips or clamps.
If I get any ridges in my hair when I sleep, what should I do?
Use either a blow dryer or ceramic straightener to straighten the ridge in the hair.
Can I go into the pool or ocean after my treatment?
Try not to, as the treatment is washed out more rapidly by sodium chloride and chlorine. Sodium chloride (salt) is in sea water and chlorine is in most swimming pools and spas.
How long will the treatment last?
Two to four months depending on how often the hair is washed.
What shampoo can I use after the treatment?
I recommend shampoo that does not contain Sodium-Chloride
